JUNIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER

Location – Edinburgh Studio (working from home on a Friday)
KESTIN is seeking a Junior Product Developer with 1-2 years industry experience. This role is to work directly with the Product Development Manager, requiring a dynamic and self-motivated individual, who is ready to contribute to quality and innovation at world-class level.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supporting the Product Development manager with their day-to-day tasks
• Making changes to CAD drawings, overviews, and tech packs, working closely with Design
• Building, maintaining and submitting tech packs, garment specifications and BOMs throughout the development process
• Attend and support in 1st proto fit sessions
• Supplier communication, handling enquiries and updates on seasonal styles
• Internal communication, keeping the team up to date with seasonal styles
• Maintenance of the seasonal WIP
• Managing seasonal lab dip requests and approvals, logging and filing
• Manage the intake of seasonal SMS samples, ensuring available for key meetings and photo shoots
• Support the Sales and Marketing teams with product information and maintain the seasonal product guide
• Sourcing and developing components and fabrics to the creative brief
• Interpreting Fabric test reports for product suitability
• Updating Zedonk with Raw material information
• Tracking costing and negotiations
• Support on maintaining good relationships and communication with our supply base, agencies and client
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Confident in Excel
• Adept in Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with Zedonk beneficial
• Basic understanding of pattern, block & fit an advantage
• Ability to self-manage and follow multiple critical paths
• Strong time management and organisational skills essential, with an ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
• Dedicated, hardworking and committed person willing to progress as the company grows
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative thinker with a solution led, can do attitude
• Menswear (multi-product) experience is an advantage
• A strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to travel to suppliers, mills and fabric fairs required
